The tasks you put off weight heavy on the mind. The birthday present you don't buy there and then is constantly popping up in your thoughts until it's done. Leave that task for any period and the amount of time you have spent thinking about the task far outweighs the thing itself.
Accountability works in a couple of ways, intrinsic (you do it for you) or extrinsic where the task is completed because of a reward or you told someone you would do it.
What works for you is subjective but it's important you know how you tick. Tapping into this will help you to maximise your productivity. A couple of things you could try, make a list each day, if you can complete all the things on the list on your own - then you'll probably be okay holding yourself accountable most of the time. On the other hand, if you struggle then tell someone your tasks - see if this works better. Its not a hard and fast rule, but it's better than nothing.
Now let's say you have two frogs to eat, leaving the frogs all day is going to play on your mind. So get it done early. Always eat the biggest frog first, everything after that is much easier.
Instead of frogs, please read tasks.
We hope this helps.
